Problem after system repair

I had a problem with my PC running windows XP media centre edition booting and I had to repair the system using HP repair software and it reinstalled windows.

Although it kept my documents and kept program files in the program files folder. The programs do not appear in the add/remove programs and when I try to open them in the start menu they say that .dll files in the windows folder are missing and registry files are missing.

Is there any program that can repair these files?

The repair program re-installed Windows - which installed a fresh Windows Registry.

That new registry has no record of previously-installed programs.

Those programs will simply have to be re-installed to use them.

It's a bother, but that's the way that repair scheme is designed to work.

Hope this helps!

Yes, agreed. You'll just have to re-install the programs again!
