Problem after install video card

After i install the 9800 pro on my machice, it became really slow to boost up. it took like a minute for the window screen then the monitor will turn off for 10 seconds and turn back on again for the sign in screen.
My specs are:
pentium 4 1.6
radeon 9800 pro
1 seagate 80 gb
1 seagate 200 gb
asus mobo
512 mb ram.
It is a sony machine.

One more question, what do you use to remove the master and slave jumper from the seagate drives?

almost sounds like a defective card... but is this before or after the drivers are installed?

I use needle nose pliers to remove tricky jumpers, but for the most part, you should be able to get at the jumper w/your fingernail.

Yeah, you might want to make sure that the old drivers from the previous video card are gone completely (head on over to rage3d.com's forums and look under Catalyst/drivers section) and then install the latest ones.

As to the jumper question, I use a toothpick.

thanks guy, it happen after the driver install. i did install it a couple times, once when i bought it and later when i found out about rage3d.com forum. You know i just check it and there it is, damn nvidia display driver. i did use the driver cleaner and go to the window xp in safe model to delete blah blah balh.. and some how the damn thing isnt delete.
Anyway, i will reinstall it and post the result later.
