I have a 15 gig drive that is partitioned in half 7gig & 8gig, I have it set up to dual boot, windows 2000 on the first c: and Win ME on the second D: I want to add another drive but when I add it to my system as a slave drive, my computer won't boot, it tells me I am missing files, any ideas on what the heck is going on?

did you disconnect the first hard drive and ...the one you have an OS on already and try to boot from a floppy to at least format and set active a partition on the second drive before setting it to slave and hooking the two together?

no I didn't know you had to do that.....so I need to disconnect the first drive, boot with a floppy, create a partition on the new drive, and format it?

thanks for the help!

It sounds like you're trying to boot from the new drive, make sure you have drive0 your 2nd boot option in bios,(floppy being #1) you should definately NOT have to disconnect your old drive. Make sure your jumpers on the drives are correct. You can format partition the new drive in win2k no problem.
