I am using windows xp pro, and have comcast internet with a linksys wireless router and modem. Sometimes I notice that I can't access certain websites on any of the 5 computers in the network using either firefox or IE. For instance, I just tried accessing gamestop.com and tennessean.com and am getting "cannot find server" errors on both.
Had that problem yesterday with gamestop.com and was able to access it after resetting the router and modem and then rebooting my computer. Now it seems to be doing it again. Very annoying! A few months back had the same problem with our bank, BankOfAmerica.com. We thought for the longest time that their website was just down, but after a week after not still being able to access it, we thought something was very fishy for a corporate website to be down for so long.
Any ideas why sometimes I am unable to access certain websites? I called Comcast and they said the problem is on my end.
Thanks for any advice on what I can look for. All computers are setup with a static ip address configured through the router admin. I seem to be able to access 99.9% of websites just fine. Thanks!!
