Probably one of the worst weekends EVER!!!!

I'll start with the icing on the cake...

I just came back from the gas station where I detailed the car.

I vacuumed up the insides, but managed to vacuum the receipt with the code for the car wash.

So I get a copy of the receipt from the girl inside the gas station, punch in the digits and pull too far forward into the car wash. I back up but nothing happens.

I go back inside and she tells me that the car wash is messed up in that way. 😕

She prints out another code and tells me to try again.

This time I pull in and the car wash runs for about a minute. It then stops. All of the lights go out and nothing is happening.

I pull out of the car wash, go around and see that the LCD says "car wash out of service."

I pull through and go back inside. This time, the girl inside comes out with me and fires up the car wash for me. Alas!!! I get the car washed.

But that's the Jetta... let me tell you about the Hyundai....

I'm coming back from dinner and see this huge hole in the road. By the time I saw it, it was too late to avoid it. BAM!

I hit it and blew out my tire.

I pulled over and switched out the 195/60 R15 with a 125/75 R15 donut. Uggh!

I looked at the rim this AM and found the tire in good shape, but the rim dented beyond repair. I'm lucky I didn't waste the rear rim too because apparently I nailed the hole with the rear rim and put a dent in it. Just not one big enough to blow the tire.

I think the tire is ok. Thank God!!!! But the rim will need to be replaced and the Hyundai dealer is closed on Sundays.

Wow, if your worst weekend ever consists of a flat tire and broken car wash, then I'm insanely jealous.

I know. I was thinking the same thing.

Reminds me of my weekend... I went out get a six pack of Corona Light. The store was out! So I settled for Bud Light. Then when I got home, one of the lightbulbs in my garage blew out.

Man... worst weekend ever.

/sarcasm

I went out to get a 12 pack of Pepsi, but the only had Coke left. Then the checkout lady was ugly.

Worst weekend ever.

I had one too! My room light was too dim, so I had to drive to a drug store and buy some bulbs!

And I had to take the puppy for a shot!

Worst weekend ever!

LOL!

I knew OT would be good for a laugh.

Yeah... Just a little ticked off that things are going so swimmingly. 😉

I'm just waiting for what's going to happen next. 😀

About the size of a watermelon. That road is so poorly lit too. 🙁

Anyway, just dropped the rim off at the dealer. The guy was trying to talk me out of buying a new rim. Told me I could just go to the hubcap store down the street.

I appreciated his honesty, but:

1. The guy at the hubcap store probably doesn't speak English.
2. The rim isn't going to be an exact match. Yeah, it's a steely covered with a hub cap, but the car is less than a year old.
3. Do I trust the guy to balance my tire?
4. Do I trust them to sell me a true rim?

I figured for $140 for a new factory rim with a tire mounted and balanced by pros, it's sort of like "insurance" that saving some money isn't come back around and kick me in the ass.

Any way.. My wife just called me. She jumped in the car for the first time after I vacuumed it out and washed it. She turned the air on and ants shot out of the AC vents.

WTF?!?! 😕

Geez, thats it? My "worst weekend" is a take-your-pick.
1) Jailtime. Wasnt my fault, I was framed. Bastards.
2) Death. Again not mine, but a friends.

A flat tire and borked carwash. My heart bleeds with sympathy for you.

If both rims dented...I'd replace both rims AND tires 😉 Then put the new tires on the front.
How often do you check tire pressure because I think they may have been under inflated.

...Galvanized

Did you find 5 bucks after that? Because that's the only way it would have been an interesting story.

Hey Yankee - I tried to tell him that the tire very might well have internal damage (I foresee a belt separation in the future), but since he's the GURU, he didn't listen. 🙁

Just got a call from the dealer. It's already mounted on the new rim, inflated, balanced. No "wobble" in the thread like when there's a split belt, but if it goes it won't be on the
front. The tire will be on the back.

The tire's were underinflated. In fact, I just aired them up last weekend. 😕

So now I'm off to pick the rim up and then I'm going to CVS to pick up a can of ant spray for my wife's Jetta.

Thanks for the update!

The rim can be fixed if the dent isn't jagged. Get a cheap butane torch at Home Depot and a hammer, Heat up the metal in the dent and pound it out. I had to do this to fix my dougnut on the side of the road. It only took the portable air compressor about 30 minutes to fill it up. 🙁
