Pop the surround for the e-brake up and you'll find a 10mm nut on the lever assembly that can be tightened with a socket and long extension.

Just sayin'. Looks like the brake isn't doing anything.

And I actually like the car. But being on a budget and deciding to buy a first year R-car seems silly as shit to me.

You'd be right, and I did find that same information. Have not yet had the opportunity to adjust it yet.

As for the budget, it was more so looking at a direct replacement cost. We picked a car that cost next to nothing more (which means no loan) which leaves ample room for repair costs should they be needed. I was considering some cars in the 10k-11k range, but as this is 3k beneath that, I have a lot of room for fixing if something pops up.

If there are no cracks, I'm pretty sure the leather can be "recolored" pretty cheaply. I saw an episode of Wheeler Dealers where they needed to restore the color of some leather seats and the guy basically rubbed a dye gel on them to make them look new.

If that's the only real flaw in the car, it would be worth a few hundred bucks to get it looking great again, especially since it's so distracting on first glance.

Yeah, I'd have to attribute that to the unique color and perhaps the fact that they aren't GM style pleather material. Maybe they aren't sealed as well? I dunno. It didn't bother me much in person.

I know I have heard Meguiars mentioned here before, if that seems like the right product, I'll grab it and do it this weekend and post new pics.

As for the stains... the car is 10 years old... so body heat, plus perspiration, plus humidity and cloths equals stains I guess.

I have never seen this kind of seat damage to 10/100K car before though! Who knows, may be these are just surface dirt and leather cleaner might make them new again. If not, you can dye them.

I am just chalking this up to the orange leather. It seems to me the driver seat is the only thing really affected. Not too big a deal, but I'll see what Meguiars can do about it.

I canceled the Meguiars order as there is a review that specifically speaks to the S60R and the Atacama leather interior or whatever. Apparently this leather is unique in more ways than just color.
