hm let's think in a discrete way first. assume the number can be from the list 0.05, 0.15, 0.25, .. 0.85, 0.95, with equal chance each (10%). If the first number is 0.05, there is a 50% chance the 2 numbers chosen will be 0.5 apart. for 0.15, the chance is 0.4, and so on. So the average probability is... 0.3. So is 30% the right answer?
