Well I guess the Secret Service must be a bunch of "race baiters" too, since they started protection for Obama well before most other candidates, and they did it because of the volume and the credibility of the threats they received.

Like I said in my ?Obama in Des Moines? post, I use to fear this but after seeing his security close up, its impossible.
Anyone wishing Obama harm couldn?t get within 10 blocks of Obama.
Those two guys a few weeks ago that planned driving thru at Obama while shooting out the window, what nut jobs.
First, they would have had to plow thru layers upon layers of barricades.
Then plow thru hundreds of people.
All while in the view of sharp shooters on rooftops.

No... Obama is well protected. Well protected!!!

Its not like we let them drive around in open top cars past unchecked buildings any more.

Most assassination attempts sound pretty silly, like some idiot just shooting at the White House, or are conspiracies that get foiled before they happen.
It looks like the last time someone was able to get a gun close to the President and fire shots was Hinckley's attempt of Reagan, almost 28 years ago.
So I'd say the Secret Service is doing a good job.
