PRO OR HOME?

Which one should i choose for stability and perfomance? Ive heard that pro IS home and home IS pro regarding stability and perfomance. They are both run on the same kernel. Correct? Also I use my computer mainly just for games/dvds/internet.

Also whats the difference getting OEM or Retail windows xp? Will I get the same updates?
