Pro Logic II?

I have quite a few mp3's and I've heard that Pro Logic 2 attempts to gather 5.1 sound from a sterio source. Now while this may not be as great as true 5.1 sound, it's bound to be better than sterio. Anyone know whether Mediaplayer8 is capable of this? If not, what about winamp?
 
Ya, I tried playing music with that, but it didn't sound so good. Only the left front speaker had a voice and the music was kinda weak. The thing is, even when I turned off Pro Logic 2 it was still like that, so I guess it's a problem with PowerDVD 4.0
