Since we will NEVER bring the two sides together I propose the following;

Pro-abortionists can have the the first trimester...that way lazy women who want to use abortion as a means of birth control can have it...as well as those unfortunate enough to REALLY need one (rape and such).

Pro-lifers can have trimester 2 and 3. Any [edit=] Most abortions performed during that time would be illegal and the would-be-mother would be thrown in a work camp doing HARD labor (MUCH harder than if she would just carry the baby and have it adopted).

[EDIT]In response to Yakko...of course women should be allowed to save their lives in trimester 2/3! I was just over-simplifying. I have no intention of making enemies over this issue I am just having a little fun with people... (/CinderElmo sets snowblower in Yakko's direction)[EDIT]

This way EVERYONE is happy! :D

Peace.

Hey GirlFriday! Can I get some muff for my ears too?

CinderElmo,

So if complications set in during the second and third trimester that can kill the mother and baby you say oh well let them both die? This is why I don't debate this subject because people like you don't seem to be able to think of it all.

You also seem to always ignore that my group exists. PRO CHOICE

yakko,

That's absolutely correct. The mother should die if such complications arise. That's the risk in having sex and becoming pregnant. If you aren't willing to accept the risks, then don't have sex. Or better yet, refuse to be born. Death to all!

Lady Jessica, that is about the most ignorant post i've ever read. Its like saying if you have cancer from smoking, don't go to the doctor, you brought it on yourself. Death to all smokers, overweight people, addicts and to many other situations similar. You must be perfect.

I remain firmly in the center.

What I would like to see is a decreased NEED for abortions, and increased respect and responsibility regarding the act of sex and procreation.

With little girls like Mandy Moore, Britney Spears, and all the hot sexy Lolitas out there, the average girl grows up thinking she has to be a hot sexy babe. They are learning how to make seductive glaces and poses before they even know what sex is. Yeah yeah, the parents have to take responsibility, but have YOU ever tried to raise a teen? Do you remember being a teen?

Anyway, I don't feel we can 'do away' with abortion any time soon. As long as little girls are growing up learning that being 'sexy and hot' is their main worth to society, they will get pregnant before they even understand what it means.

So, while I don't like abortion and hope, eventually, things change, I see it as a symptom of a bigger problem.

When girls are allowed to remain innocent children longer and boys are taught to be responsible earlier, there will be less of a need.

BTW, I don't care if anyone agrees with me. This is just my .02

;)

I'm pro-life.

I met this guy once, man did he have a powerful story... He was the product of a rape (black guy raped his white mother). He was so thankful that his mother didn't get an abortion. It must have been so hard for her, having a daily reminder of how he was conceived. Especially at a time when everyone was telling her that she should have gotten an abortion. But there he was. "Meant to be," he said. Really cool guy...

Oh, and I forgot to mention..........

Definitely pro-choice, for a country that claims on preserve and protect freedom and democracy for all, it would be hypocritical to restrict people's right to choose.
