private topics

They disappear at whatever rate you set your normal topics to stop showing I think, based on whether they've had a new post or not. In your preferences for how many days you want to see in a category. And of course the owner could simply remove you and it'd disappear if you weren't the originator.

And of course there's no FAQ.
 
This isn't really a "FAQ" item, it IS in the help though under the section about profile explaning what those options are. Private topics are threads just like anything else, so if you only show 2 days then you ONLY get 2 days.
 
Actually it's under the Customization section. 🙂 But that's not really any help if you don't know how the private topics work, and most people would at first assume they're similar to PMs and not actual threads. And there's still no FAQ about the PTs themselves which I think is what he wanted (not even mentioned in the help section yet).
