ok, so i've seen several private servers for various MMO's available. If people pay to play on the official servers, isn't it unfair (illegal) to play on private servers?
 
Depends on the EULA for the software. Most shooters for example explicitly allow for private servers.

Or it mind not be legal, but the publisher might not care enough to enforce their rights.
 
well, take lineage II for example, you can download the full client off their site, after that u can patch the client so that u can play on private servers (thus no need for paying), wouldn't that be considered an unethical practice?
