Hi Guys,

I have a question. I want to connect a computer to the internet and only be able to access the internet. In other words, I don't want to have access to the rest of the network. Is there a way to block myself off from the rest of the network and only access the internet?

Thanks

Welcome to AnandTech Forums.

If you do not Switch On the Sharing on the computer it can not be accessed by the Network.

The easiest, least technical way is to put a wireless adapter on the computer and turn on client isolation on the wireless access point (called AP isolation on linksys access points).

What kind of router are you using? My D-Link DIR-655 has a "guest zone" option to create a separate wireless network that can't access the other systems on the network.
