Usually they do. My GF's brother has been in the penn for the last 10 years. He told me that the worst thing you can be called on the inside is a "punk", which means your were a child molester. Punks are typically passed around as the ultimate b!tch, and often severely beaten and/or killed in the process.

Some of the early interviews that they had with him when he was in prison, when he first got there, was that it was kind of like a vacation to him, wasn't bad at all," said Terry Gray, a family friend.

"I'd say he probably had a change of heart about that now," he said.

yeah i normally don't get ass raped and tattoed when i got on vacation heh

They should have used a dull axe to imprint that tattoo.

Jackson County Prosecutor Steve Pierson speculated that it had to be a guard who took and smuggled the picture out of the prison, since inmates are prohibited from having cameras.

Sure. No cameras, but they have their own tattoo parlors set up. :p

That is so strange that they did that. I wonder if anything else is in store for him by the inmates.

Ink for a prison tattoo might come from a pen, or it might be made from melted plastic, burned Styrofoam, or whatever else the prisoners can find.
thanks for the info.

When I was in the Philippines, we made our own electric tattoo guns. It's really easy, just need a VCR motor, the 3rd string on a guitar, a pen, and an outlet.

Sucks that taxpayers are probably going to have to pay to have it removed.

At first I almost felt bad for the dude....but then when you realize what he did to a innocent child I can only hope that they tattooed taht thing it really deep and it hurt really bad. Something tells me he'll be by himself for a while or he'll be in big trouble if he goes back into normal population.

My guess is that he didn't have the tattoo done by choice, and if he asks to have it removed, he likely won't last long.

I had an old friend who did tattoos when he was serving a few years, and he said the most common was the styrofoam. You burn it, and catch the smoke/soot in something. I forget what they mixed it with, probably water.

Supposedly, the color the ink makes is unique, and can be identified as a prison tat in the right lighting. They just looked dark green to me. :p

I hope they use a coarse grinder to remove it.

I'll gladly donate a bench grinder to that facility.

I'm very sad if they only stopped at his forehead! There are more painful places to make a tattoo on...

They should have branded him instead of inking him. Branding builds scar tissue and is not something that could be removed.
