Prison Break - morality issue

First of all, I love Prison Break, it's one of my favourite shows and I can't wait for the 2nd season. But here is my issue with it:

Lincoln Burrows is innocent because he never shot Mr Steadman, but he went into that car park with every intention of killing the man. Does this really make him that much better than whoever really did kill him (
even though no one actually did, as has been revealed
)?

So these people desperately defending him, including Michael, are knowingly defending a man, even risking their lives for him, with the knowledge that he genuinely was going to kill Terrance. Anyone else have a problem with this?

That doesn't sound right....I'll have to rewatch that episode of Prison Break. I don't think he had the intention of killing him.

Anyways, Minority Report addresses some of your questions.

he's perhaps guilty of conspiracy to commit murder amond other things. but he doesn't deserve to be executed for 1st degree murder because he's not guilty of that

btw, its a damn tv show, a Fox network one at that so don't read so much into it

Agreed. Though, I didn't see the episode, but I doubt they'd have him up as intending to kill the man.

Well its funny, because whether or not he was guilty of killing that guy...he IS now guilty of escaping from prison. So he is gonna go back either way.

Since the person in the car was already dead his moment of decision never arrived so we can't judge his real character based on that one incident. He might have done it or he might not have, but he was convicted for an action he never took.

Michael feels responsible since Lincoln called him that night for help but he ignored the call. Had he picked up Lincoln would likely not have ended up on death row.

It's such a stupidly written show anyway. Utterly implausible plot lines. The ONLY reason to watch it is Wentworth Miller - who is quite possibly the SEXIEST man in Hollywood right now.

Hey, at least it isn't Lost (aka: massively confusing plotline where they often reveal little/nothing or make it more confusing but hype it up so much you have to watch every single ep so they can roll in the vast ad revenues time and again).

Nothing makes sense if you don't understand it. It can be frustrating but it will all make sense for the most part at the end... I think.

Regardless, you should know that "The Others" are the good guys. It might seem like they're bad, but they're only defending themselves from the islanders, which have specific purpose but don't know it yet. It's all rather straight forward, the power of the mind.
