Prison Architect is out of beta

I'm not sure if anybody here has been interested in this game. It's finally made its final release. If you're not familiar with it, I'd say it's addicting in the same way that Dwarf Fortress is addicting, but without such a steep learning curve.

I haven't played it in about 6 months myself I think. I had decided to take a break from the beta to wait until final release.

Just a heads up if anybody might be interested. I really liked the game.

I got the game, find it UI weird to navigate. I got some time off next week going to give it a go..seems like it could be fun once get hang of it.

Between that in Rimworld, going to be busy 😀

lol yeah.

I suggest going to the update list for the game in Steam, then viewing the beta update videos starting somewhere around beta 20. It will teach you how to play the game. Although this will be time consuming since they are pretty long videos. Then you wont be struggling anyway.

I like both PA and Rimworld but find Rimworld to be the more engaging, more appealing overall... there's just more to do.

Glad to see PA come out and release finally though 🙂 One of the shining lights of crowdfunding and EA.

Something I kickstarted to get access to the beta and enjoyed what they had so far but it was open ended and easy to build a large profitable prison so it was a bit boring, decided to not touch it again until it was finished which turned out to be a good move I think, just played several hours through the campaign and really enjoyed it. It's definitely a cool game which is surprisingly in depth.

I haven't played this in about a year and WOW they added a slew of content!

It took me a few tries to get the mundane process of the initial prison start up out of the way. Since then hello 7AM play times.

There's visitation and parole rooms now, more work items for your prisoners to do, female prisoners, snipers, guard dogs, education, hot water for showers and heating, and a whole bunch of other stuff I haven't figured out how to use.

It seems like the prisoners don't bust out in riot so often now, but it still has that feeling like the whole place will explode at any minute.

Thanks, that game looks interesting too. At first glance the layout seems similar too PA.

There's more to do in Rimworld? Dang there seems like a lot to do in PA so more is better.

What's the major differences between the two games?

Never realized PA was crowdfunded. I personally have simply followed this development studio for years since they released Uplink.

Like the game alot but always seem to get stumped at education. Nobody will do the general ed classes which are required before the other classes (i think?). I always stall at this point (grant).

I haven't done the grant yet, but I've setup a class room and had teachers come in to teach.

Did you guys see there's a 3D button now? Looks kinda of cool.
