Did they change to power output or how you should set it up from early alpha versions?

It used to take me 1 to power half a map of rooms, but now it seems like i have to build a lot of them.

You can power about 400 cells with one power unit. But it takes an entire unit t power like 20 cooking stations. an entire unit to power a couple huge workshop, an entire unit to power a huge number of metal detectors and door servos etc... It depends on how thorough you end up making your prison.

Ok thanks! I've missed a bunch of alphas, I think I last played before they brought in tunneling.

I never go in with a plan so it just seemed like my power station was either layed out wrong with the switches and capacitors or they changed the specs as I couldn't build like I usually do without adding more power stations.

PA is a great game. My latest work in progress, but I think I'm going to start over, because getting some weird pathing.

Bought this on the recent steam sale 2 days ago and I hate you all for posting the stuff you have. :p

Sitting around 60 prisoners only right now and it took me awhile to get the handle but after 2-3 escapes every 4 days I figured out that I needed to make the pathing near my outside doorlocks to staff only and it's been a few weeks without any incidents but I only have minimal security prisoners. :p

Now to sit back and gather the funds to rework the entire thing as it's fugly.

It was ugly for awhile after I removed my showers in my holding area to my new cell block and getting 2 riots before I noticed I only placed the shower heads and didn't place the actual room.

It is pretty complicated in it's current state, compared to when I started around alpha 13 or so. Back then as long as they were happy was all you had to worry about, and workshops made $5k a day easy.

Now it's legendary prisoners, and tunnels, and prisoners needing protective custody, and so on.

I'm almost convinced this is a bad reason for early access. Kerbal Space Program is the same way... I'd NEVER be able to figure it out if I started in Career today, and would probably say the game sucked (no maneuver nodes, etc).

I'm hoping that when the game comes to completion that they will finalize it with a campaign of some kind that will introduce the features in steps like any modern strategy-citybuilder type game would. I completely agree that it is far too complicated for most casual players to want to sift through it in its current state.

These guys did a great job with Uplink, so I trust that this game will end up right.

Hmmm, never heard of that one. It's 99 cents on sale right now. Thanks for the heads up.

Definitely great devs. Updates like clockwork every month. I knew I'd love this game because I love building games and it seemed interesting. I wouldn't mind an Army or City Architect in the future.

Lol, if you want a game that gets your blood pumping then play Uplink. You'll be sitting at the edge of your seat in panic the entire game. Just be mindful that it's old and was never given proper modding support. The font is set via pixel size which doesn't scale to resolution and was designed for gaming on a CRT monitor where you would adjust your screen resolution in order to see the game the way you want. You can't really do that any more with flatscreens. I think playing in windowed mode helps quite a bit and there are a few mods that can be useful.

Hi, I starting to play this game now and I saw your awesome prison, I have a question for you... You design your security room in the entrance of your prison right? How that works? The new prisons entry right through the security room? Congrats, awesome prison...

The game has been released fully. I'm amazed the posts stopped in late 2014.

The reason for the security room at the front is because that's where the extra guards that are not doing anything tend to go. It's also the only link to the armory, which prisoners like to attempt to get to during a riot.

Since there are a ton of new room types now since I had posted this, I don't think it's possible to really make the prison the same as this now.
