Here's the situation:

I have a 600MHz Duron O'Cd to 900 MHz with 512 MB of RAM (with about 300+ free 95% of the time), running Windows XP Professional. Connected to this machine is my HP LaserJet 1000 (via a USB cable).

When I git my ropinter shortly after Thanksgiving, I installed all the drivers and what not and imedatly shared the bad boy on my network. No issues cropped up thankfully.

For Xmas I recieved a HP xh575 (Athlon 1.1 Ghz w/ 512 MB of RAM). I also picked up a cheap 10/100 Linksys Switch. On the Laptop I set up the defult printer as the shared HP LJ 1000. However when I use using my Laptop to print webpages for a project. I would get the first webage printed, however the queue'd items wouldn't print.

When I looked on the printer information on the desktop every item was "Spooling - ERROR". I tried caneling the print jobs however that appeared to have locked up the print sever. I was able to print the needed items only off the desktop, all print jobs from the laptop cause an error and appear to be spooling forever. The odd thing is that this does not affect the local printing as they print right away evn though they are 4-5 items back on the queue.

I tried the default MS troubleshooter which, of course proved to be of little use. What did I do wrong? Anything specific I need to look into? Any help would be apprecitative, as I will need to have this up and running with 4 or 5 computers printing to the laserjet in a few weeks.

Thanks,
-NY

What protocals are you using for your network on both machines? TCP/IP requires both machines to be in the same workgroup and have printer sharing enabled on the local machine with the printer connected to it. Otherwise, you could also use NetBEUI for all network file/printer sharing.
