Printing to Wireless Print Server Under DOS?

Looking into getting a Point-of-Sale setup using Laptops, a wireless router with a print server. All this cool technology and DOS is needed for the program. Its a must, can't change it don't ask. Anyway, I know that the print server uses an IP to give to the printer. Im just wondering if you can map that to a virtual LPT port so that DOS programs can print to it. Also, anyone know the speed of these things, how fast it takes from Print to Printout? Speed is a concern, anything more than a 3 or 4 seconds and that would be too long...
