Printing Really Big

I've created a document to be printed rather large. 7.3 inches by 28 inches. I want it to be on a single sheet of cardstock (which i have all prepared). The problem is that my printer seems to offer no way to print a document of this size. The paper will fit just fine, I just can't figure out how t can be set up in the print settings. Anyone have any ideas? I'm running WinXP SP2, printing from Adobe Illustrator, with an HP PSC 1350.

I could tell you if you had a Canon - when you start to print you get the print dialog box (don't use the icon in the toolbar as it may go right to printing w/o allowing you to make changes (though many softwares are capable of setting up custom page specs themselves)). From the print dialog box, choose properties, the printer settings window will pop up. Choose the Page setup tab. In there you can set custom paper sizes up to whatever your printer allows (from the drop-down list of paper sizes, choose Custom). Once you've chose Custom, you should be offered fields to fill in the paper size and other options. My Canon can only do up to 23.4" without cutting and pasting together - some have a roll paper option which is about unlimited length.

Well, sorta looks like there's no solution for this one. "Wallace" over at the HP "Chat with a technician" thing Wasn't able to offer much help. I can't decide if Wallace was an Indian fella or an ELIZA script with a human monitor to respond when I asked if the humans were home.

Software like The Print Shop or PrintMaster can do banners by using as many single sheets as necessary and you can cut and paste them together using the guides printed on each piece.. I was just thinking it would be almost impossible for a bin-feed machine like most HPs to handle outsized paper while bin-feed printers like most Canons would have no problem. For bin-feed printers, you'd have to use the banner printing feature of some softwares.
