Printing and/or saving big threads

I was trying to print the big (500+ posts) Mobile Barton thread in HD _HERE_by clicking the main printer icon like I used to do then print the thread but it will only print the max number of posts for that page (100 for me). When I go to the next page and try to print the next 100 it starts back from the beginning. The printer icon does not put all of the posts in a big thread in the pop-up like it used to. I also used to use this method to copy and paste a big thread into a word doc then save on my PC for archival purposes.

What am I doing wrong?

EDIT: Oh yeah, I also used this method to search in big threads using CTRL-F.

I steal it from RossMAN when he isn't looking. ;)

MODs gave it to me for all of the rebate contact info I keep up with. Thanks, that reminds me, I need to send them an updated list.

And for all that information you provided it was well deserved.

:)

Grand Nagus? What's that? Pardon my stupidity.

Well, Lanyap, you nailed it completely with this thread. I just discovered exactly what you are talking about and went to Forum Issues to post, and thought I'd glance at the topics to see if it was being bandied about already, and saw your thread right near the top. I couldn't have said it better myself. It's one of the best features of Anandtech Forums and it's a total shame it doesn't work anymore. I used to do all the things you state - archive, Control-F, the whole 9 yards. Now, I can't even find a workaround, just as you say. I hope they fix this because without it, redundant posts are a certainty - it really screws up the forums if you can't search a thread.

Yes, it's working, and thanks!

One suggestion/complaint, though. When printing a thread (or producing a printable version, which can be pasted into a document, database, etc.), you are stuck with the signatures whether your Anandtech is configured to show signatures or not. I wish and hope you will make it so that it shows signatures only if your profile is configured to show signatures? Doesn't that make sense? If it had to be one or the other I'd very much prefer to see the thread without everybody's signatures (even though I view them in normal threads with signatures (I'd turn them off if need be when I work up printable versions).
