Printer with cheapest ink refills?

I'm looking for a reliable printer that doesn't jam and has cheap ink refills. It's for the parents.

Inkjet or laser. Quality is not that important as long as it's readable. What's important is the cost in the long run, like number of pages per cartridge and cost of the cartridge.

What about Epson Artisan 50:

The fact is most if not literally 100% of inkjets now are all color, and since most (all?) also now require color ink to keep the head in good shape--even if you only want to print black--
