printer, user intervention, networked, help please

I have 2 pc's networked in my home. When ever I try to print from the pc without the printer hooked up to it, I get "user intervention".

Both pc's have W98.

Can anyone help me with this?

I am confused by what you are doing. How is it all setup? Are you trying to print to a printer on computer 2 from computer 1.
 
On the machine that does not have the printer physically connected to it, you need to set it up so that it is a network printer.
 
Have you shared the printer and installed the printer on the other PC as a network printer? Also make sure if you map the drive to a port map it to anything BUT LPT1, or disable LPT1 in BIOS(preferred if you are printing from DOS).
