Printer test page problem

wpshooter

Golden Member
When I print a test page after configuring my HP Laserjet 2100 printer I get the following on the printer test page:

PCL XL error

Susbystem: KERNEL
Error: IllegalAttributeDataType
Operator: SetLineDash
Position: 12

Surely this is NOT what I am supposed to be getting as a confirmation of the proper setup of this printer. That is what I get when using the (recommended) driver.

I have tried a number (but not all) of the listed drivers for this particular printer and I always get this same printout.

P. S. - I have NO problem with getting this printer to install and work under WIN2000.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Thanks.

Never mind, I figured it out.

It would be nice if in their selection of printers they (Ubuntu) would described it as HP - Windows and HP - Linux instead of just HP & HP-LIP.

Thanks.
