Hi, I run this is huge problem in my printer and i am wondering if any of you can lend me a hand. I have a HP PSC 2110xi all in one printer and been working nicely for 2 years. However a frw days ago the printer stop printing or snaing. when i try to print it said print error and when i tried to scan, it give me this error saying it can;t perform the job because another program already has control of the device. I even try uninstalling the printer and restalling it, doesn't help. Is there anything i can do?

First, you could try installing it on another PC---and see if it speaks the truth--and there is something on your PC that conflicts.

Then go to the HP website and see what they have to say---they do have troubleshooting tips and e-mail support which may be free.
See what kind of self tests it has independent of PC support---check to see if your parallel port or USB ports show correct settings in device manager.
And to remove old HP drivers--you may need to download a special program---so don't assume you have a clean reinstall of drivers.

So step 1---see if its your PC or your printer.

And if its your printer---chances are it won't be worth repairing----while the older HP printers were reliable---the newer ones are not as reliable.
Broken printers do make cute flower pots.

is there a way for me delete the system information manually after i uninstall the printer driver?

You are still better off finding any HP tools if possible--because they will delete the right registry keys.--working with the registry manually takes infinite patience
and lots of knowledge about devices.

But you might try regseeker---a free program--scarily aggressive but it has never let me down--and automatically backs up the registry.---just google regseeker.

Step one---delete HP printer software---reboot a time or two---then install and run regseeker---check remove old exe.'s---and run---might work--might not help removing the HP printer issue that is plaguing you---but it will clean a ton of other crap.

But I assume you would not ask this question if you were not sure the issue is not with the printer---but with your PC---and it would help to know exactly where you are at now.

But if the printer installs via USB---or even parallel---there are other non-registry issues that can screw up with HP printers. I will address those when I know where you are at and what you have tried.
