Printer Sharing Will Not Work

For the life of me, I can't get a simple printer sharing to work between the two PCs on my network, both running WindowsXP with sharing enabled, with the same workgroup name and unique PC names. I've tried everything I can find, but every site on the internet makes it sound simple and problem-free.

I've tried troubleshooting, including everything on this list:
http://compnetworking.about.co.../tp/winfilesharing.htm

I've disabled my firewall as well to no avail.

If I try to add a network printer after doing all this trouble shooting, I "browse for printer" and get "Microsoft Windows Network," and if I try to expand that, there's nothing inside of it.

Suggestions appreciated. Thank you!

Try installing the printer drivers on the second computer without doing add a printer.

After the drivers are installed add the printer.

Tried that, thanks, but no luck. Think the drivers are native to XP--it's a standard HP printer that plugged and played.

Plus, I can't even see the other computers, let alone their printers. Wouldn't that preclude a driver/printer identification problem?
