Printer sharing - Help!

I am trying to share my Epson Stylus CX5200 printer. The host is a Windows ME desktop computer. The clients are a Dell laptop running XP Prof and a computer running Windows 98. Printer and file sharing works fine on the Windows 98 computer. However on the Dell Laptop running XP Prof. I am able to share files ok and I can see the printer on the network but when I go to print it says it, "could not start print job." I have shut off fire wall and installed the software but still can't print. Would love any input. Thank you
 
Thanks for responding 🙂. I do have the software installed on the laptop (client) and the printer is the default printer. However, I am not sure that I have the port set up correctly. On the host computer the only way I can print is to set it on UPUSB1. Is this ok or do I need to have it on the LPT1. The host printer will not print when I switch it to LPT1.
I guess my question is do all 3 of the computers I have on the network need to be showing the same printer port?
 
Ok, still no luck here.

Has anyone here personally been able to print from a INSPIRON 5100 running XP set up as a client, where the host was a system running Windows ME? (The printer I am using is a brand new Epson Stylus CX5200 all in one printer). If so I would love to hear how you did it or if you had the some trouble I am having. I am getting very frustrated with the whole thing and am getting ready to ship the laptop back. Infact I already have my authorization number to do so but I am hoping someone might have the answer I am looking for before I spend the $50 or so bucks to ship and insure it.

I have contacted Epson and they were very helpful regarding their product and said that all the configurations they checked with me sounded correct.

I have a Windows 98 desktop: and Windows ME Desktop computer and the laptop running off a D-Link Enhanced 2.4ghz Wireless Router. Broadband works encellant on all computers. I can share and print files between the Windows 98 and Windows ME computers without a problem. I can share files with all computers with the laptop. I can see the Ebson printer on the network from the laptop. I can send the print job but It keeps coming back with:

Test Page Failed to print. Would you like to view the print troubleshooter for assistance. Unable to create a print job.

I have also set up the printer directly to the laptop and it has worked but this will not work for me as a final solution.

So if anybody has any clues for me I will greatly appreciate any input you could give me.
