Hi. I'm trying to install a printer on the print server for the Barricade on Windows 2000 Pro. I installed the Print Server Monitor, and I followed the directions. When I get to the part about entering the address of the network that the printer is installed on, Windows gives me a message telling me that either the printer is not plugged in, or that it is not installed. I'm trying to install an Epson Stylus Color II (it's old, I know...). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I have no clue....but.....

I remember reading that the "print servers" can't work with printers that require bi-directional communication.......you might want to look for info on this.

good Luck!

thanks souka. checked the SMC website and confirmed that the print server didnt support bi-directional printers. still dont know if mine is or isnt a bi-directional printer. but i did get it to work. looked like they messed up the installation manual that comes with the router. you have to install it as a local printer, not a network printer. make sure to install the print server monitor before installing the printer.

Correct me if I am wrong, but doesnt bidirection mean the printers that tell the Ink status, and paper levels? That old Stylus II shouldnt have that issue.
