printer problems.....anyone??

Built my dad an duron 600 currently @ 600 on a KT7, first off installed printer ran beautifully. For some reason he hooked the printer up to the old computer, and found the parallel plug unplugged from the mother board. not knowing where it went, he 1st tried plugging it into the sound, card, didn't work.... then tried plugging it into the video card.. (don't ask why.. have no clue) and it didn't work. finally when he realized that he had to plug it into the motherboard. the printer wouldn't work. now when he hooks the printer back up to the duron system the printer will print a self test page, you can re-install it, but if you tell it to print, the printer acts like it's going to work, then just starts beeping a yellow light. ( I think that is the color) oh ya, his printer is an HP 682C... please help me help my dad......

hmm, have you tried resetting the printer, look in the manual for that. perhaps using a different printer cable might help. and if you have already reinstalled the drivers then i am out of options except for the first two. got any more questions PM me.

haven't tried resetting the printer yet. tried new cable with no success.. I thought about someway to reset it, but my dad lost the book...... thanks.
