Printer problem - losing communication while printing???

This is happening on my cousin's computer - every time she prints a document, she gets communication error (between PC and printer). That happens in the middle of printing, and the application that she used to print (i.e. Word) freezes...
Any idea what may be causing the problems???

BTW, she is running Celery 566@850 (at 1.6V) on Asus P2B mobo, w/ 196MB RAM, and Win 98...
