I own an Epson CX3200, and I changed the cartridge recently and printed with it. It worked fine, but now it stopped printing in color. The black and white part of a picture comes out, but it seems like nothing is coming from the color part. I tried the head cleaning function, head alignment, and nozzle check and nothing has helped.

is this the single cartridge type with the printer head on the cartridge or is it the type that has a little resavoir for each color and sits inside the printhead?

Its the one with a resevoir for each color in a single color cartridge. It does not have a seperate color for each cartridge. There are little holes covered with plastic for each color that get puncturerd when its loaded into head.

never mind I looked it up it looks like the kind with the individual colors that sit inside a printhead. Personally I don't care for this design much because after a little while despite the cleaning cycles that the software provides the printhead tends to get plugged up.

so while you pay less money for the cartridges when that head plugs solid you end up sending away to epson for a replacement head for 50.00+ .
With most printers you pay more for the cartridge because everytime you replace one you get a brand new printhead on the cartridge.

personally I suspect yours is plugged solid and you can buy entire printers for under 50.00 now.

I was hoping that wouldnt be the case... Espeically since I jsut spent 50$ on more cartridges... I guess I can still use it for balck and white document printing, just nothing with color.

Anyway, I got two older printers, one is an hp k60si and the other is a lexmark z52. The lexmark is a stand alone printer and the HP is an all in one deal. Ill buy more ink for one of them and use the epson for scanning, since the scanner on ithe epson is better.

go to atlascopy.com and see what they have to say about unclogging your cartridges.
