Printer Drivers

I'm seeing PCL5 and Postscript and maybe even some others.

What are the uses for these. Which one is the "right" one?

I would use the PCL 5, and if it starts giving you problems then throw that piece of crap lexmark away! LOL j/k, the PCL 5 is what i always use.

You would use PostScript if you were doing serious pre-press work (desktop publishing) and Linux is very PostScript friendly. For most, PCL5 is good enough and less of a hassle (IOW, dumbed-down for the rest of us). :roll:

Just use the latest PCL5 driver for your combo of printer and OS and you'll be fine.
