Printer drivers (mini-rant)

I just installed some printer drivers for an HP 840c printer. Did the normal installation work? No. It said I had to use the setup program (bad sign). I ran the program, which worked. And it installed "HP Internet services"...


...since when does "I bought your printer" mean "I want to be spammed"?

I have an 840C and have not been at all happy with it. My wife was trying to print out some stuff for work the other night and the printer kept going nuts with all the lights flashing very fast. We have had nothing but trouble with it and I now have it hooked up to the USB port to see if that clears up the problems.

I've noticed that HP has been dropping in quality myself... many of the HP desktops in my dept are having problems, their cdrws aren't working, and they all require some personal info...
