Please pass any advice you have to offer. I pront a lot of text but

I stick with Epson printers. They print fast and last forever. I personally have the Epson Stylus Color C-60 which prints awesome pictures. There are a couple models higher. The HP inkjets have always been to slow for me. I had an Epson 600 which I got in '97 with my Gateway. I gave it last year to my mother-in-law because I wanted a faster printer, so, 6 years later its still in operation. The Canon's are basically the same as HP's.

I'd go with the i850. It is faster with text than the i950 and the photo quality is almost as good. Both the i950 and the HP will be quite slow with text while the i850 is among the fastest photo/inkjet printers as far as text is concerned. The i950 is VERY fast with photos, however, and will produce the best prints among the three you mentioned. The i850 is probably the best mix, in my opinion, and at ~$150 you can't beat it. BTW - it does a great job with photos too.

Epson also makes some great printers, but I don't have much experience with their current line.

Long-term it might be cheaper to have _2_ printers -- laser like the Brother 5040 for text, and a photos-only inkjet with the high ink costs. Unless you're handy with ink bottles and hypo needles :)

Everyone- Thanks for your input. I have decided to go with the i850. It has the best mix of what I want.
Does anyone know where to get cheap ink? Thanks for the input! You guys are great!
