hi, i'm now in market for a printer
i'm looking at hp 1500L colour laser printer
or
one of those all in one, injet printer
black and white copy it's not much an issue
but i want it be able to print catalog @ photo quality in decent cost
which one is better and save money in the long term base
colour inkjet or colour laser

search on "color" "laser" "inkjet" and "printer" to find earlier threads on both kinds of printers.

Price-per-page should be much lower for the color laser, and text quality will be higher.

Photo quality is supposed to be higher on modern inkjets than at least the under-$1500 lasers.

PCWorld.com has "top 10" lists with reviews that might help. Also look at TomsHardware.com for some recent inkjet comparison reviews.

When you say HP you pretty much better watch out for consumable prices on inkjets and color lasers. The 1500l doesn't get as good marks as the Xeroxs and Okis.

A lot of articles say color lasers are cheaper per page that inkjets.
This is only true in theory.
If you refill, generic or direct feed an inkjet it becomes just a cheap or cheaper. It also assumes you will get the stated number of pages out of a toner. This depends on a lot of things...
