Not the hottest deal on a 19" LCD, but includes DVI cable. The appeal is, buying from Costco, you are basically buying a 19" LCD in your life forever because of Costco's return policy.

Model VL1916. Only 1 yr warranty, but specs look otherwise identical to the more widely available LCD19D model which has 3 yr warranty.

I'm assuming the deal will work this way. $279.99 - $20 MIR = $259.99 + shipping and tax. Rebate can be submitted online. Costco rebates very reliable.

Rebate valid June 3 - July 31.

Current costco.com deal on this 19" LCD is $299.99 - $20 rebate = $279.99 + shipping. Shipping shows $13.74 for me (Michigan); not sure if this is same nationwide. You'll also pay state sales tax, most likely.

Costco Passport coupon book has coupon valid B&M or online for $329.99 reg price - $50 instant off = $279.99. Valid June 27 - July 3. If it works out as $299.99 - $50 - $20 MIR = $229.99 AR, that would be really nice. Have to wait and see, I guess.

Includes DVI cable.

hey paulsaz, that's the right monitor.

Does anyone know if this monitor is any good?
The costco book shows it for 279 after the coupon, but nothing about a rebate

What does it mean by:
#ms Tr + #ms Tf Response Time Fast Video Response Time:***
Optimal for the playback of multimedia movie clips, video editing, spreadsheet, word processing, and playing games.

I'm comparing the vl1918 and the vl1917 ... don't know which to get but it seems both are the same price

Is a 140 viewing angle good ?

VRP ... i don't know what you are smoking ... if the after coupon price is 279.99 ... how are you going to add another $50 coupon and than tack on a $20 rebate that isn't listed at a price of 299 when it's 329?
i'm confused

I never bought an lcd before so i have no idea... any help would be nice

thanks!

well i'm having a Princeton 19" LCD w/ DVI. loved it so far, but would like to have features like tilt vertically, and a faster response time (25ms is too slow for scrolling down pages, ghosting effect).

man... i was wondering the same thing about ... over 16million... but 16.7 is also over no? The website shows specific numbers for other monitors .... but i guess if i don't like it i can return in a month ... good time to test it ...

i think i'll get one ... it's close by and easy to xchange if i have dead pix.

tilts would be nice ... but i think i'm just going to hang it anyhow ...
hope it is to my liking ....

This particular monitor has a 12 ms response time.

It's a good indication that it's 16.2 million colors when they use such vague wording. Is this thing available at B&M? Or can you return online orders at the actual store?

I went to get it today, but I forgot my coupon book. The display model looks very crisp and was comparable to the $700 viewsonic 20" sitting next to it.

I just picked this monitor up yesterday, and so far I'm extremely pleased. Like GuySmilez says, its very bright, clear, crisp, and the colors look great. Keep in mind I'm going from a 7 year old Dell 19" CRT but it still looked great.

I have it hooked up with the suplied DVI cable to my current rig which is a Geforce 3 card, AMD XP1800, and a MSI 266A MB. This week I'll be getting a new 6800GT, Asus SLI Premium MB, and a AMD 64, 3700 (SanDiego core), so I dont know if it will even get better that this or not.

I dont notice any dead pixles although I havent been searching, and I cant coment on the built in speakers cause I didnt hook them up. But overall after looking for the past 2 months for a good 19" LCD in the $350 and under range I'm really happy, I was also thinking of going with the Hyundai L-90 or and Samsung 930. I have not tested it on games yet cause I'm waiting to build the new system (Doom crashes after 3 mins on this setup) so I'll have to see about ghosting, but seeing as its Costco, and you can return it if your not happy, how can you go wrong.

I purchased a 19" CRT from costco 3 years ago that went bad. With their return policy, do I still have a way of getting a new one? I can throw it out, no big deal, but hey, worth asking :)

So is this a 16.2 million color monitor? I've been seeing the Samsung 930b for under $300 several times recently, and I'd rather have a Samsung if both have 6-bit screens.

Yup. I'd rather go with the Samsung because it has better specs and a better reputation (well ok, this monitor has barely been out yet). If this monitor had 16.7, I'd go with this one for sure.

Dell deals are not necessarily better. I thought the 1905fp was a POS. Then again, I've had people tell me I probably had a defective monitor. In any case, LCDs are a very subjective thing.

You should get the costco coupon book in the mail.

w00t just got the 2nd of these babies and i got to say... WOW!! had to exchange it once cause it had 2 dead pixels but the new one no dead pixels in either and looks awsome... for all those who are skeptical or hesitant i can almost garantee you wont be disappointed by these. Anyone else try em? i cant find anything wrong or that could be better other than if it were to have 8ms response which i wouldnt be able to tell anyways. hmm now to look for a deal on the wall mount for the dual 19s!!

what does the OP mean by costco's return policy? Does that mean an extended warentee from 1 yr?

whats the difference between 6.2 and 6.7 (yeah I know its 0.5 :))? Will that be noticeable to the naked eye? I will be using this for video editing or photo editing will the difference really really matter.

Just my luck, i have to take a rain check. they ran out of the ones on sale.

Picked this up from my local Costco yesterday where they had a big display of them at the end of an aisle.

Replaced my nearly 4 year old 19" Planar I got on a Dell deal long ago. I have to say the Vl1918 is much better (to me anyway) than my old LCD. Looks good and no dead pixels.

I have tested it using GTA:SA, Doom3, Act of War, web surfing and viewing images taken from my digital camera and everything looks good. No ghosting in games and sharp colors and lines.

Overall I think this is a great deal, especially for the price and the Costco "warranty".

Ok ... other than the $8 W. EST FEE ... some tax fee they charged me here in so.cal ...
the value of the monitor seems good.

The brightness at 0 really doesn't turn it down that much ... and I have it currently at 60.
The monitor is fairly bright and the fonts are very crisp and clear.

I'm running off an old geforce ddr dvi plug.
I'm not sure if it's the video card or the monitor, but when i hit advanced in the desktop properties to go to the video settings... i get a flicker ...

When i go into a game such as Diablo II ... I get "no signal" for about 2 seconds and then the game appears. Alt-tab'ing the game out I get the same "no signal" for about 2 seconds.

When scrolling in the forums The letters get slight blurred during the scrolling (not using smooth scrolling) and quickly returns to normal. Again not sure if it's my monitor or the video card so if you guys can clarify this I'd appreciate it.

The color seems a lil off compared to my syncmaster 950p from samsung, but then again that is a crt ... somewhat slightly poorer than my dell trinitron. (both 19")

When moving a window with text such as this box ... even at a slow pace ... the black letters are jittery as though the letters are flashing very quickly on and off ... very quickly ...

I work with 19" viewsonics everywhere ... I don't think they do this but I haven't really paid attention. I'll compare it tomorrow ... they are the vx series.

Other than the above ... it seems to be fine. No dead pixels that i have seen.

Also, when going to windows (using xp) it sometimes flickers (no sound or anything ... just resizing or something) ....

Do you guys have these problems? or is it normal?

Let me know ... I'll change the video card if it helps, but if it doesn't ... I won't bother ...

I'm pretty sure the flickering and flashing fonts isn't suppose to be there ... so i'm currently looking for a sub $200 decent vid card ... let me know what you think i should get ... thanks

if you have any questions about the monitor that i can answer ... let me know ... not sure what specifics you buyers have ... i just looked at the specs and went for it ...
