1st impressions:
Played the original pop but never tried sands of time. Gave this a try and it didn't impress. Even though it's just a demo; I found lots of bugs and considering the release date is next month, I won't be surprised if these bugs make it to final release. Rainbow Six Raven Shield had high expectations but has been ridded with issues and basically had little to no support from release from this company.
Bug i found on the 1st level:
The enemy will not chase after you depending on your actions. I stood far away and threw a weapon at the enemy and they all went brain dead. During this tutorial part, the enemy just kept jumping onto the ship and didn't move from their position after I did the weapon throw, if you killed one, the game just threw another dead AI mob on the boat. This hasn't happen when I've done it close range but from far away. Might take a few tries to get this bug to work. It was fun the 1st time but gets boring fast cause even when the AI works, the mobs aren't much of a challenge.
The Boss on this stage looks ugly and not ugly in a sinister way but rather in an dorky way(the mug on this lass resembles a guy with a $5 haircut). Whenever I play a new game I often get an adrenaline rush when I reach the boss cause you don't know what to expect the 1st time around. I approach the ugly hobo and prepare for an exciting battle! Hmmm... doesn't chase after me much and at times just stands there. I was able to dodge all her attacks by rolling in circles. At times I felt it was more fun being a rolly polly bug. The battle was really repetitive; if you head towards the edge of the battle arena, just hold down the direction that points to the wall and push attack, this move launches you from the wall towards the enemy. Basically, this shemale won't block the thrust attack and you could just thrust her/him to victory if you wanted or if you want some excitement, you can attack 2-3 times, roll and repeat.
Bugs on level 2:
You may notice sometimes after you throw the enemy on the ground and hack away at them they either dematerialize or magicial stand up and show a slow motion death of them being cut in half. Well if you throw them at the wall, run at them and start hacking away at their body, it will not perish. This bug shouldn't be too hard to pull off but one of the more boring bugs, after getting tired of hacking at the mob for minutes nonstop I let it get up and just finish it off.
After you pull the lever, kill the mobs, run up the wall to hit the switch and enter the next area you will notice 3 mobs. Now this is the easiest bug to pull off. In this area just keep running towards the water as the mobs chase you, you will notice that once you cross the archway the mobs magically stop chasing you and go into retarded mode. I have so much free time after I pass this archway I helped myself to some water and washed my face, ran sideways on the wall and trip myself on the fountain all the while wondering what happended to the mobs? I go back pass the arch way and found the 3 mobs running into walls and none of them will attack you anymore. You can attack them one by one and depending on your lucky they will either fight back or continue to run into the wall depending on how you attack them.
I haven't tried to play any tricks on the level 2 boss yet but i thought about getting him stuck in a small room while i jump over him on the walls, I was pretty bored with the game at this point to mess with the AI anymore.
Pretty disappointing demo.
