A bit more on Warrior Within - I think the problem is it's trying too hard. From the all grey/brown color, to the Linkin Park (terrible!) inspired soundtrack, to the ridiculously juvenile T and A, you can almost see the marketing execs leaning over the shoulders of the designers going "we need to sell to more teenage males. Appeal to their hormones and formulaic taste in music."
I retract my previous statement. Warrior Within is not a good game in spite of it's downfalls - it's a good game because the mechanics that defined Sands of Time were so strong to begin with, that even the watered down crap (there is no other word for it) that Warrior Within added could not derail the gameplay.
Hopefully, being that the series deals with time and change, we will see the Prince from Sands of Time return for the third installment. I much preferred the golden hearted royal son of The Sands of Time to the X-TREME Marketing! generic ruffian of Warrior Within.
