I never got the appeal of Prince's music.

he was just fucking weird.

I'll miss him (and his music) as much as I missed Michael Jackson...not at all.

Well everyone has different tastes as far as what they "like" but being unable to "get" that Prince was a huge talent is YOU'RE deficiency at not knowing what "talent" really is, even if you don't like the particular format. the dude made himself by leaning several instruments plus writing all his own material and recording/producing it as well.

his musicality was off the charts. even if you didn't like him, i had no idea he played so many instruments and made so much music.

There were instruments he only semi played where he could still hang with some of the better ones out there. He's up there with Ernie Isley & Jesse Johnson on the guitar for most underrated. I'm sure Prince & Jesse played together many times, I can't imagine how crazy it would have been to see them playing together in person.

More sad news.

The last song I was listening to before I got home was "My Name is Prince." Then I get home to find that he's dead. 🙁

The last CD of his I was interested in was "Breakfast Can Wait"; mostly for the Chappelle cover though.

BREAKING NEWS
PRINCE 911 CALLER
YES, HE'S DEAD AND IT'S PRINCE

4/21/16 5:21 PM PST

29 A panicked man called 911 from Paisley Park after finding Prince unconscious, and blurted out ... "people are just distraught" here.

We've obtained the transcript of the 911 call which police say was made by an unidentified male who immediately said, "Um, we're at Prince's house." Seconds later the man stammered before saying, "So, yeah, um, the person is dead here."

For some reason the caller did not know the address at Paisley Park, and had to call someone else in to the room to provide that info.

When the dispatcher asked, "Are you with the person who's ... " -- the caller interrupted, "Yes, it's Prince."

Paramedics arrived and quickly reported back to dispatch, "You can cancel anybody going to Audubon, confirmed DOA."

2016 is turning out a bad year for death in general.
Family young member committed suicide, a parent died, co-worker hung himself over a divorce, theres been so many I lost track.
And its only April.... 🙁

From the Link,
"Our sources further say doctors advised Prince to stay in the hospital for 24 hours. His people demanded a private room, and when they were told that wasn't possible ... Prince and co. decided to bail. The singer was released 3 hours after arriving and flew home.

We're told when Prince left he "was not doing well."

So put him in an Ambulance and transfer him to a hospital that has private rooms. Does not seem Prince chose his friends wisely at all or like Elvis they would go along with anything he said/did because they were addicts/leeches themselves and didn't want to risk upsetting the "milch cow". Elton John was in a similar downward spiral when one of his "friends" had the balls to tell him you are at death's doorstep if you don't stop, Elton took the advise and got treatment.

You realize Prince wrote Nothing Compares 2 U and released it on a side project album by the band The Family before Sinead covered it right?

Although Sinead turned out to be a toxic personality I will give her proper credit for bringing a lot of emotion to her cover and sounding pretty damm good singing it.

Was never a fan of prince, he always came across very gayish flamboyant... the way he dressed, talked and acted was loony.

that was the kind of thing that bothered me when I was, maybe, 6 years old and Prince was at his zenith (Purple Rain and all that).

But then I grew up and such things stopped bothering by the age of 10.

sucks that such a legend has died.

it's hilarious though how all of a sudden prince is everyone's favorite musician.

Not my "favorite" musician, I have 1-2 of his CD's but defiantly an influential musician and more talent than MJ IMO, MJ never learned any instrument and did not produce his own recordings, Prince did. Sadly, his talents and legacy will be tainted if the drug OD was the reason he died so young.

I loved his music and always planned on making it to one of his concerts but it was always sold out instantly and was in the several thousand dollar range.
