I let it go in the background, watched it ... not a Jon Stewart fan 🙁, didn't find it that funny...but the issue made sense...
 
i never understood why you can't show a boob on TV yet you can show a corpse with its head cut off or someone totured then killed.

violence is ok. Nudity is not.

i would rather my kids see boobs then a bloody corpse.

Yeah, NYPD Blue was famous in the early years for ass and sideboob. I remember people making a big stink about Dennis Franz showing his ass on the show.

The clip that Jon Stewart showed with Charlotte Ross was from an episode late in its run.

100% agree.

rape, murder, war, beatings pretty much violence of any kind is totally ok but show a boob or pussy and its total anarchy.

My wife would watch SVU (only one i like) and shows like that. if the kids watched it they would get nightmares. We watched a documentary and it showed a women's boobs. she didn't have a nightmare in fact she didn't have a reaction. it was boobs no big deal.

not saying they need to show penis, pussy or sex. but showing boob, ass wouldn't be a issue. it's far better then showing a women getting gutted (wich some sports do show in computer rendition)

Because exposing our children to nudity will corrupt their minds and lead to teen pregnancy. I find it hard to believe you would want to change this obviously 100% successful way of life. Its not like kids can just go someplace else and easily find significantly more graphic (and sometimes more disturbing) images/videso with little effort

If the world were up to you, our kids would all be serial killers. I'm not a serial killer because I already know what a headless corpse looks like. TV has shown me what they look like. Without seeing that, I would need to make my own headless corpse. I can't video tape it because it could be used against me, so I would need to kill AGAIN if I wanted to see that again.

Right now kids are just shielded from sex. If you want sex, you hang out near the exit of a bar and talk to drunk women as they head toward the exit.

I realize the sarcasm, but I think showing people naked on TV will actually make it way less of an issue than it would otherwise be, for two reasons:
1. Seeing it mainstream makes it seem a lot less "forbidden" and therefore less of a big deal.

2. People naked on TV are "pre-approved" to be naked (i.e. hot, as noted by some comedian I now forget), and therefore the bar will be raised. If you're used to seeing Kate beckinsale naked on TV, all of a sudden getting your overweight or underdeveloped gf naked seems less appealing :biggrin:

What percentage of the population is involved in teen pregnancy?


Parents aren't concerned about their kids becoming serial killers (generally speaking . . .).
Parents ARE concerned about teen pregnancy.

Maybe parents should actually keep an eye on what their kids are watching on TV we wouldn't have any problems at all...

If that is true.. then, my god, parents are dumb. No wonder US is the worst country for teen pregnencies in the developed world.
