Anyone watching this? Apparently she gave the contestant Corey Clark help behind the scenes by buying him clothes, having him come over her place, among other things. She even gave him a cell phone to communicate with her. Here's an article on it:

From ABCNews.com:

NEW YORK Apr 27, 2005 ? Paula Abdul is taking pre-emptive measures to squash a controversy sparked by an upcoming ABC special on "American Idol."

Though the exact nature of the "Primetime Live" special, "Fallen Idol," remains unknown, ABC has said it will "explore explosive claims about behind-the-scenes activities" at the Fox talent contest.

Reports have speculated that it will hinge on Corey Clark, a contestant who was dropped from the show in 2003 after producers learned about a past arrest. He is reportedly trying to sell a tell-all book about his experiences with the program, including an alleged affair with Abdul, one of the three judges on the show.

On Tuesday, a spokesperson for Abdul released a statement to syndicated entertainment show "Access Hollywood":

"Paula Abdul will not dignify the false statements made by Corey Clark with a response. Mr. Clark is an admitted liar and opportunist who engages in unlawful activities. He is communicating lies about Paula Abdul in order to generate interest in a book deal."

Further, the Los Angeles Times reported Wednesday that Abdul's lawyer, Marty Singer, has sent a letter to ABC threatening legal action if the network airs the special.

Simon Cowell, the show's more critical judge, defended Abdul on the syndicated entertainment show "Extra" Tuesday.

"Paula, to be fair to her, will spend more time backstage with the contestants giving encouragement. But that's not a bad thing," Cowell said. "I think (the accusations) are rubbish. I think this is a guy who's out there to publish a book."

The third judge, Randy Jackson, and host Ryan Seacrest also appeared on programs Tuesday to defend Abdul and "American Idol."

Efforts by The Associated Press to reach Clark have been unsuccessful.

Clark was booted from the show for not disclosing that he was facing assault charges for allegedly assaulting his teenage sister and resisting arrest. He later pleaded no contest to a lesser charge of obstructing the legal process.

The hourlong "Primetime Live" report by anchor John Quinones is scheduled May 4 (10 p.m. ET).

It's been on the news all day. It's possible she did sleep with him - seeing that she's a desperate druggie now. It's also possible she didn't, who really knows? Better yet, who really cares - it's not like he won it all.

You're obviously not watching the show. There's no question about it, she's history and I wouldn't be surprised if former contestants sue the show.

I been watching and recording it. Looks like he has phone records to back it up. Not really sure what his agenda is. Why did he wait two year to tell this? :Q

I didn't say I was watching the show. Second, how is there no question about it? All I've read and seen on the news are about the accusations that have been made.

I've never watched a single episode of that show, thus I have no clue about what is happening.

He certainly looks like he's trying to cash in on the show's success, but with all the evidence, I think it's hard pressed to say that he isn't telling the truth.

You didn't have to say that, which is why I said its obvious you're not. ;) Just an observation, not a criticism. The contestant has all kinds of specific info about her house, her hot tub, her dog's names etc. :D He's also got months of phone records and witnesses of them together etc. Its amazing how much this girl risked and now will be unquestionably dumped in shame.

There's no question he's doing it for the money imo. He was piss poor before idol. Its also some revenge because he was hurt when she dumped him like a rock. Oh well, so be it, she brought it on herself.

It's too bad that America is full of vapid mouthbreathers that follow shows like "American Idol" so closely. With all the other REAL newsworthy things going on in the world, for ABC to devote time to covering this non-story is disgusting.

Everyone ends up looking bad.
Corey looks bad because he's a snitch who would have been nowhere if it wasn't for Paula.
Paula looks bad because she bring it on herself.
ABC looks bad for smearing FOX.
Randy looked bad in those tight leather pants on those Journey clips.

Have you ever heard of the entertainment industry? Its a fairly big business if I'm not mistaken.

That is strong evidence, but I don't believe Fox and Cowell are going to give up on Paula (at least not yet). She's the glue on that show - if she goes out the door, AI will most likely follow suit.
