Anybody running three GPUs in this race? (I see yes.)
Anybody running three GPUs in one box in this race?
Are they GTX 580s?

Apparently the top guy has something like 10 boxes with 3 GTX 580s each!

What made you change besides the massive difference in power consumption and noise? Hah. Actually, that probably would have been enough for me to make that switch 🙂

Well actually the HD6970 consumes almost the same power as a stock GTX470. Also, both cards never exceeded 78*C at stock speeds. However, the GTX470 was much louder under load (so when running DC projects, that can be a major disadvantage). Also, I just felt like playing with new hardware and getting faster performance in F1 2010 and Crysis / Crysis Warhead games. Overclocked, the GTX470 was pretty close to the HD6970 though in a lot of games, but in overclocked state, that's when the noise was a real issue for me. With HD6970, I got GTX470 overclocked performance, minus the noise. It cost me less to upgrade than to get an aftermarket cooler for the 470, so I figured why not. 😉

Just 12 hours left, but we keep getting passed by countries. Let's try to keep the UK behind us!

I've got 2 GTX460s and 1 GTX295 (dual gpus on single piece of silicon)

It looks like the GTX295 is equivalent to 1 GTX460

[thread=2205059]There's a configuration option[/thread] to make BOINC use all your GPUs. It might not use both 295 GPUs if that's not enabled. Are you using it?

Yes, it crunches 2 WUs at the same time so Bionc thinks I have 2 gpus in that machine. I suspect it draws a ton of power but it's keeping my feet nice and toasty while I type. 😛

The race is over! Presuming PrimeGrid doesn't have some leftover WUs in a cache, these should be the final stats:

Given that we're among the usual suspects, I think GPU races tend to bring out the heavy hitters. As such, we did quite well. I don't know our final rankings for sure, but given we're so close to BOINC@Poland, I expect we'll end up 10th or so. Good race, all, and good racing season! See you next year! 🙂

Thanks for a good race!
And now, back to the 6th Annual Folding@Home Holiday Season Race ... 😉
All participats are invited, just let me know in the FAH-HSR-thread, which is pinned at the top.

Oh, good that the race is over. I'm posting from a friend's house, the FIOS line got sliced at my apt complex, so my internet is going to be out for a day (hopefully not longer).

So I probably didn't get my last few WUs in, but it looks like I did pretty decently.

Well, what do you know. My internet radio started playing a mere few minutes ago. Looks like they fixed the fiber break. GoGo Verizon Repair Man!
