just download the client, when you finished installing it, it will ask you for the project url. It will guide you through the registration. Once you'redone withthat, a page will open, there you can look for our team and press "Join". You canstill join us at a later time from your profile page.

Welcome, chronodekar! I suspect it was me, too. ;) Nice to know my sig is doing some good.

It looks like you got signed up alright, but I'm guessing you didn't narrow down the projects you want to run? You seem to have two WUs of the kind that takes the longest to run, Prime Sierpinski Project LLR WUs. If you follow waffleironhead's link, I have instructions there on how to do AP26 WUs for the race. They only take an hour or so each, so you'll see results much faster that way.

(By the way, if you install a 64-bit OS, such as with wubi, the AP26 WUs will only take half that time. :))

welcome to the teAm chronodekar!

I am currently working on primegrid as well. If you have any questions about the client just ask.
Also, you may want to be aware that there is a primegrid race that starts tomorrow.

Thanks for those links guys. I think I have a better understanding of how BOINC works now. There are these projects that run under BONIC and each project has "tasks" associated with it. What a client can run on their systems are these "tasks".

When I joined up for primegrid, I didn't really know what the "tasks" were about, but it looks like some are easier (and quicker) to run, so I followed your instructions Ken, and set my tasks to AP26. I selected "update", so its just a matter of time, I guess, for it to switch over.

BOINC doesn't slow down my system, right? I am under the assumption that it runs similar to the SETI@home project. Running during my screen-saver. Or am I wrong ?

Hope my contribution will help !

If I'm not mistaken, those two WUs should be just about done by now, so probably the best thing to do is just to wait. You can verify that in the Tasks tab of BOINC Manager.

SETI@Home runs under BOINC now - that's actually what BOINC was created for. So yes, it's very similar to SETI@Home. :)
