I almost forgot, Mark asked that we remind him when he can stop running PrimeGrid.... @Markfw , thanks for pitching in brother, you can finish up what you've already started, and abort the rest if you like.

Thanks, trying to save the power (electric bill) But after redoing my second threadripper, I should be close to 14 million ppd.

All the Advil/Tylenol you've had to buy to combat the headache(s) of converting to Linux seems to be paying some massive dividends! :) You were at, what, 10.5M ppd prior to Linux?

Yup, but one million of that is still in question,. if either box reboots, I have to reinstall from scratch until I find the culprit. I did try something new today, but not ready to reboot unless its forced, so I don't know if it fixed it. Also posted in the linuxmint forum, and no replies yet.

Huh. I switched over a Ryzen 5 1600 rig and an RX 470 to the PrimeGrid race... it doesn't appear that I made it into the stats. Weird. Was I just too late, or did I have the wrong project?
PPS Sieve LLR, right?
(I mean, I switched it over like two days ago.)

I think it was over 2 days ago. See post 434 above it was over the day before that.

Hey, put them on F@H ! We have over a month to go on the race against Brony.

VL, your earliest returned results were just an hour too late. It ended 2017-12-21 16:28:00 UTC.

So I am seeing if I can plausibly run this first challenge (Happy New Year Challenge), as I am not to much in to the CPU PG challenges. Anyway, I am trying to use the app_config posted in the thread Happy New Year Challenge using copy/paste in notepad (Win10 machine) and I get and error message in BOINC that it refers to an "unknown application"

PrimeGrid: Notice from BOINC

Your app_config.xml file refers to an unknown application 'llrSOB'. Known applications: 'ap26', 'llrGCW', 'llr321', 'pps_sr2sieve', 'llrTRP', 'genefer17low', 'llrPPSE', 'llrPPS', 'gcw_sieve', 'genefer15', 'genefer16', 'llrMEGA', 'genefer17mega'
12/24/2017 8:44:35 AM

I have tried without success to change 'llrSOB' to "llrSoB" and get the same results.............

Question is Why? or better yet What am I doing wrong? or even What IS wrong?

Annnnnnnnnnnnnndddddddddddddddd Now it's working...............Oh well

The message "Your app_config.xml file refers to an unknown application" appears not only if you mistyped an application name, but also if you correctly entered an application which boinc-client has not downloaded yet. So, the right way to approach this is to Keep Calm and Carry On. ;-)

I made this note in my ${boincdir}/projects/www.primegrid.com/app_config.xml:
Code:
   <!--
      application names according to
      http://www.primegrid.com/forum_thread.php?id=7348&nowrap=true#106370

      llrTPS (SGS)
      llrWOO
      llrCUL
      llrCUL
      llrPSP
      pps_sr2sieve
      llrPPS
      ap26
      llrSOB
      trp_sr2sieve
      llrTRP
      genefer (GFN 21)
      genefer_wr (GFN 22)
      llrPPSE
      llrSR5
      llrESP
      llrMEGA (PPS-MEGA)
      genefer15
      genefer16
      genefer17low
      genefer17mega
      genefer18
      genefer19
      genefer20
      gcw_sieve
      llrGCW (GCW-LLR, not yet running)
   -->
Well, llrGCW is active now. Also, meanwhile they actually added all the short names to the canonical list of applications.

Thank you again! :)

Excuse my digging up this old thread, but I just noticed that somebody assembled the summary stats of the 2017 challenge series.

Is there a page that shows the condolidated challenge standings for each year? If not, can we get one?
See 2017 Challenge Series page and link to Current Overall Standings
Would that do the job?

2018 series has different link but it has only 2012-2016 result, no 2017-2018.

I thought they had stopped doing this, which was kind of a let down.
Glad that it has been revived and hope it continues. Adds a little something to the challenges.
