FFT lengths have now advanced to 2560K at llrCUL (20 MBytes) and 2400K at llrWOO (18.75 MBytes).
what will that do to things ?
For most settings this won't make a difference.
But let's say somebody selected only llrWOO and ran three jobs in parallel on an E5-2696 v4 (55 MB unified inclusive L3$). 3x 18 MB data was already a stretch for that, and 3x 18.75 MB is obviously over the brink.

Yeah, I think our rank is safe. But I learned today that powerline networking can crash in firmware. Hopefully it's a rare event.

I added a 5950x, but I can't hold 2nd. Too much cloud. For every 8C task, multiply by the number of tasks for that line and add up. I think there is over a thousand cores.

The previous llrCUL+llrWOO challenge took place in November 2020 and was 10 days long too. Antarctic Crunchers finished it in 1st with 94.8 M points. We reached the same score today at 11:45 UTC, and 100 M points at 18:30 UTC = half an hour ago. 3d9h+ still to go.

TeAm AnandTech finished the 11.2020 challenge in 14th with 9.35 M points. This year we reached this score in less than 28 hours after the start of the challenge. :-) — We were distracted from PrimeGrid in 11.2020 though. :-D

I just fired up an old 4 core laptop!!! I think it needs new thermal paste or something. It's running like 2 ghz... I hope it drops at least one more task before the end....

Maybe a good break down and rebuild with the guts cleaned and blown out will make it a contender? ;)

48 hours remaining! For those with slower machines, you might want to consider which WU type(s) will produce the most points in the time left.

We lost zeroth place. Apparently I'm not such a good 'head-hunter, either. :(

But @Skillz caught a wild xii5ku! ;)

Noooooo......so close to catching Bill1024 and Orange Kid. :)

Question: How the heck do I have 19 pending on a quorum of one task? (19 * 27000 points each could have been useful for my final standing) (I only ran WOO tasks)

Thanks for the long duration stats, Ken!

Dont worry, those were all counted towards the race. The pending credit is for a verification task that gets sent out to make sure your WU was valid. If indeed the WU is invalid then credit is taken away from your total race stats.

They have a new system for verification which guarantees everyone is "first" in these types of Sub projects. You have a main task which takes hours/days to complete. Then when you return that task another task is created called a proof task. These tasks take a few short minutes (usually less than 10 minutes) to complete that verifies the main task.

In Primegrid Challenge Series all your pending points that you earned during the challenge goes towards your total score. If the task is valid you keep the points. If the task ends up being marked not valid then the points will be deducted from your challenge points.

I'm still working on a few tasks in order to synchronize my WOO badge with my CUL badge.

That was soooo close. I had to dust off an old laptop and fire it up to stay ahead. That one unit it was able to crunch made all the difference.

Thanks for the stats Ken!
So that's why the one WU from the old laptop I dusted off wasn't enough.

I just corrected my post #386:
  • The app_config.xml syntax for cpuGFN21 was outdated.
  • The current cpuGFN21 application is able to use vector arithmetic.
