I'm in, with my vast (slightly more than two) collection of beefy (compared to an original Voodoo card) GPUs! :D

I think I'll let my CPUs run it as well, at least at first to see how they do. They might even out-produce my GPUs...

OK, in English please.... Which one is what ?
They are both CPU and GPU, and both part of the challenge that starts on the 17th. The "Low" application has shorter run times, but is almost out of tasks, so the project administrators said that anyone participating in the challenge should enable both the "Low" and "Mega" applications so that computers don't end up sitting idle when the "Low" tasks are gone.

Also, CPU work is single-threaded, so probably don't allocate hyper-threads to these tasks.

I started it, but its only using 2 cpus out of 32 ???

I changed to 16 threads per taks, now its running one task and all 32 cores@100%, but not the GPU task ?

This primegrid stuff is confusing.

It doesn't start for ~22 more hours. There's a countdown on the main Primegrid homepage.

I did a conversion from 17:17 on 17 Jan UTC and it said 16 Jan 9 am, but now I see it was how google changed things on me.

Thanks for setting me straight. Anyway, I have one box running with a 5950x and a 3070TI

There's a countdown clock on the main front page of the PrimeGrid site, so no need to do any manual calculations to figure it out.

You also should make sure that the CPU and GPUs are enabled at the top of the page.

The top of the Primegrid front page also shows the current time UTC.
Ken, its running. Tell me what you think of the ppd. I have 2 more (soon to be 3) 5950x I could put on this.

Well, I did have one box on. I just added one.

Its doing the GPU task in one minute 50 seconds ? My other box is doing them at 2:20...

The CPU-only applications of GFN-17-Low and GFN-17-Mega are always single-threaded, regardless of what you configure in the web preferences.

Yes, it was all about setup on the first box. Once done, my other 3 are chugging right along.

Its now runing 1/1. I have 138 threads of those running, and 4 of the GPU threads.

My fastest time for a GTX1080 is around 11 min. :(
And in my other computer, the 1070ti is at around 7 min. ?
