Well team, if we finish this Challenge in 1st place right ahead of CNT who can maintain a 2nd place lead over 3rd place AC we will finish the year off with an overall series tie with AC for 1st place.

We're around halfway into this challenge so far. So if anyone has any spare GPUs they can throw on the challenge, now is the time to add them.
well, I'm doing 2.5 million ppd !

Oh, and we almost 40 million ahead, or close to 18% ahead right now.

We're #1 without anyone in the top 3. That's what I call TeAm-work! :)

Day 4.5 stats of this challenge, and of the previous GFN-21/-22/-DYFL challenge:
................................................. 12/2021 ............... 12/2019
TeAm AnandTech ................... 254 M ...................... 49 M
Czech National Team ............. 217 M .................... 406 M
Antarctic Crunchers ................ 202 M ...................... 35 M
(source)

we almost 40 million ahead,
This doesn't say much. GFN is very easy to bunker. As I mentioned earlier, CNT uploaded an almost 90 M big bunker after ~4 days of the 12/2019 challenge. (This bunker obviously came from Viktor Svantner.) A 10 days deep bunker is straightforward to implement as well. Can be done with a single client instance even on a host with several high-end GPUs.

if anyone has any spare GPUs they can throw on the challenge, now is the time to add them.
Larger CPUs work OK too. Especially server CPUs with large caches. 24 MB cache enables full FMA3 throughput for one cpuGFN21 instance. Zen2 desktop CPUs, and more so Zen3, should work well too. But an app_config.xml with suitable parameters needs to be written. (Syntax: opening post of the challenge thread)

I just estimated my final credit. I must be off. I have 7.4m now, and doing 2.6m per day I estimated 1bout 19 million as my final score. I thought it would be more... 4.3 days to go.

Oh well....

Feeling a little Fogg-y? It's more like 5.3 days to go.

The peak of the Geminids shower is supposed to happen next night. But it won't be seen here, as it's all cloudy. (And if it wasn't, it's not easy to find a place in Germany which isn't light-polluted.)

We are 90 million ahead. I fail to see that they could possibly make that up with bunkers.

In 2019 the same team dropped a 90M point bunker in the same race, same sub project. Just 4 days into the challenge. So it's very much possible. Especially if they have bunkers since the start. Just not very likely.

Yep; we are now at day 6.5. In 2019, CNT's top user had 235 Million points after 6.5 days, and he had bunkered 2/3rds of his production in the earlier part of that race; that's where the 90 M bunker came from.

But this particular user was not as active in more recent challenges. Also, CNT didn't bunker as much in some recent challenges as they sometimes did before. Althouh they still do, and sometimes even enough for an overtake: 10/2021 challenge graph

Anyhow; it's possible, but not likely.

well, nobody probably cares, since both current contests are GPU, but my 3rd 5950x came in just now, and I am putting an OS or two on it. It won't do win 11. (says it does not meet minimum requirements). So working on win 10 first. Once I have things checked out will put mint 19.2 on it.

Video card is a 9800 GT (yes, its a dinosaur, but it uses nvidia drivers), since I don't want to interrupt the 3070TI until the end of Dec, due to the race. At least until primegrid is over.

PS, *real* PrimeGrid contributors would of course never bunker. What if they found a huge prime, but because they reported it late, their wingman would snatch all the fame and glamour...

Most of CNT couldn't careless about that. Although I have noticed they haven't been bunkering as much as they used to.
