I am having some issues with Prime95.I am running Vista 64bit and do have the right version for the OS.Whats happening is when I run a cpu only test, the test for the second core always shuts down with an error stating something about the outcome was .05 when expected to be less than .04 or something.I only got this error once when my system was at stock speeds. This error is imeadiatley at start.
Also is it possible for a e8400 cpu to operate with games and stuff running with only 1 core running? I am running Hellgate London at 1920x1200 DX10 with most all settings at max and getting about 70 to 90fps average but have seen them as high as 170fps in tight places.Right after a test failed,I went into Hellgate and played like this for around 3 hours with Winamp and 2 temp programs running in background.I never got above 60C and had no issues at all.
I have OCed the e8400 to 4.050ghz with an 1800 FSB idel temps are 37-45C by Real Temp 2.5 and about 8to10 degrees higher by Core Temp 0.98.Temps in the bios are closer to the Core Temp one's.
I have 4 gigs of OCZ Reaper HPC DDR2 800 running at 800mhz and very relaxed at 6.6.6.18 2T.
there stock timmings are 4.4.3.15 2T but when set to auto they show up as the above timmings, which is how I left them.

Anybody else having issues with Prime95 in Vista 64bit?

Only people that don't have a stable overclock, like yourself. BTW, welcome to anandtech, although a few days late.

I was wondering how you managed to get task manager to show that you have all 4GB of ram available. Now I see :)

Thanks for the welcome. This error always occured along with one in the main window of P95.It says something about invalid line in .ini txt file.Anyways I deleated it and downloaded a fresh copy. That fixed that error compleatley and now I've seen that the system wasn't stable. So I made some adjustments.
Heres a link with pics, and she seems to be stable now.
