Ok i usually use prime95 but i reformatted and i guess a newer version came out since then.. now when i try to torture test it asks me to choose one of these 3 options.

Small FFTs
In-place large FFTs
Blend (default)
Custom

which should i choose?

It depends on what you want to test. Check out the explanation for each test. Some test memory more, some produce more heat and use more power. I use three of the tests.

I use Custom. Min FFT 8 Max FFT 4096. Memory in use 926MB (I have 1GB RAM). Run each FFT 15 minutes. I also run in place large FFTs for maximum heat and power consumption with little memory tested and sometimes the blend which tests lots of RAM.

I also run two instances of Prime95 since I have multiprocessor support enabled in BIOS and run WinXP Pro.

I use in place large FFT since running this test raises my CPU temps the most I figure it puts the most stress on the CPU. All of the tests will test your OC since they all stress your hardware. Run it for 24 hours non stop. I like to use monitoring software to check out the CPU temp etc. while the test if running.

I also use the computer during the test. Nothing crazy, just office apps, surfing, etc.

If you want to be more specific about it... It heavily uses FDIV, and SSE2 at the same time, which is why Prime95 will heat your CPU more then almost any other program.
